Remember the good old days when Friday's was a big deal? Now, everytime I mention it as a possible place to go gain weight, my friends look at me funny. Y touched on this briefly: most Kuwaitis seem to be motivated by what we call a "habba." First it was Fanar, Soug Sharg, Marina Mall-Il Raya, but that's a strangely neutral complex, and now there's a shift moving towards Al Sal7iya-or around it. Now, I don't mind people's interests shifting, but in Kuwait we have a heap of people, all, at the same time, trying to be unique by acting the same...Am I making sense? No? Good, because it doesn't make sense to me either. Sure, it's happening, only a liar would deny it, but whatever happened to liking something just because you like it?
Me, I'll be the first to admit that I go to Al Ri7ab to buy my video games, consoles, and pretty much anything else I need that's game-related. "Way, yal 3gaidiya!" BITE ME! Honestly, there's a blatantly disgusting line between going someplace that doesn't have what I want, while atthe same time being the "it" place, and going to some place we all know but deny ever having seen that has what we really need.
Grab a Reality Check on the way out, people!

I bet you're right in every word you said ..
Its just that this "habba" is a Kuwaiti trade mark ..
I haven't seen such a "phenomenon" in any other part of the world ..
In the following lines is a personal experience .. An aweful lunch at Hard Rock Cafe during its first days of opening.. Ya3ni during the "habba" :)
I went with a friend of mine,the place was over booked and hundreds are waitin' outside .. we were so lucky to sneak in n' sit on the best table on the seaside .. I waz so excited that i felt i'm a winner among those people ..
I ordered a steak .. cant recall its name precisely .. i had my first bite of the steak .. the second .. the third .. when on the fourth one i found out a small ringlet of a hair ..probably the chief hair !!
I shouted n screamed .. ran to the toilets to throw up .. !!
You can't imagin the way the staff n the manager reacted to what happend .. they did beg to offer another dish .. but i totally refused .. my friend was shocked .. he didnt want to stay any further .. we left with a big disappointment .. left the whole order on the house ..
on the way out ..i looked through all the people waiting for thier turn to come .. i wanted to scream loudly :
Back off guys!!!

Since then, i decided not to particapte in any kuwaiti habba .. Never Ever !!
